Angelina Jolie’s handwritten thank you note to staff at a Greek hotel is going viral. The Oscar winner stayed at the hotel while filming her movie “Maria” in Greece.
She left a thank you note to the hotel staff that confused Gen Zers who can’t read basic cursive. They are debating online what the note says. They’re not dumb, they just weren’t taught how to read in cursive.

The note reads: “Thank you for a restful stay at your beautiful resort. The ‘Maria’ crew had a lovely time here. With love, Angelina Jolie.”
I bet Angelina’s six children have no problem reading her handwriting.
Cursive handwriting might as well be a foreign language to Gen Zers. Kids today don’t have a clue how to read cursive because the fine art of handwriting isn’t taught in schools anymore.
Schools removed handwriting from the curriculum to make room for more important subjects such as “gender studies” and “critical race theory.”
When we were kids, we learned how to write in cursive in the first grade. Public schools understood the importance of teaching cursive handwriting.
Cursive was phased out of the Common Core education standards in 2010. Cursive was once considered a fundamental skill, but not anymore.
It is essential that today’s students learn to say “partner” instead of “boyfriend” or “girlfriend”. They must also learn that pregnant women are “pregnant bodies” and “chest feeders.”
You understand why cursive handwriting pales in comparison to those weighty subjects, don’t you?
Question: Do you teach your children how to read and write cursive?
